Digital Delacroix

Artificial intelligence at the service of artistic heritage

The project

The Digital Delacroix project, led by Barthélémy Jobert, aims to deepen our understanding of Eugène Delacroix's work using artificial intelligence, 3D visualisation and physico-chemical analyses.

This interdisciplinary initiative, which brings together several laboratories of Sorbonne Université, sets out to develop new tools for analysing and exploring the master's work.

The project draws on a vast digital corpus comprising Delacroix's writings, paintings, drawings and prints, as well as data collected during the recent restoration of the library of the French National Assembly.

This programme is supported by the Schmidt Sciences Humanities and AI Virtual Institute (HAVI).

Partners

Around SCAI and the Centre André-Chastel, several partners have joined forces, each contributing their specific expertise and fields of excellence to the various research areas of the Digital Delacroix project.
